Geophysics

Geophysics is the study of the Earth’s physical properties and processes, including its structure, composition, and dynamics. It combines the principles of physics, mathematics, and geology to understand how the Earth works. Geophysicists use a range of tools and techniques, such as seismology, gravity, magnetic and electric surveys, and remote sensing, to study earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, plate tectonics, the Earth’s magnetic field, and the distribution of natural resources. The goal of geophysics is to provide a better understanding of the Earth’s structure, behavior, and evolution, and to contribute to the development of natural resource exploration and environmental monitoring.
